Hold'em Manager introduces Hold'em Vision PRO . . . the newest HM APP. We sat down with Alex Lynch, the developer of Hold'em Vision PRO to talk about his new product and how it might benefit Hold'em Manager customers:

HM: What are Hold'em Vision and Hold'em Vision PRO?

Alex: Hold'em Vision starts with a premise that we process visual information more effectively than we do tables of data and stats. A lot of poker software throws out a few token graphs that look pretty but there really isn't anything actionable that is easily derived from them. For those that are willing to invest a little bit of time in analyzing their game using Hold'em Vision and now Hold'em Vision PRO, they will realize that the entire product is built on the premise of allowing customers to visually identify actionable opportunities that can improve their game.

HM: What is the difference between Hold'em Vision and Hold'em Vision PRO?

Alex: Hold'em Vision, as incorporated into the standard Hold'em Manager and Omaha Manager, consist of a set of enhanced graphical reporting and analysis tools. The Hold'em Vision PRO toolset takes the concept to a much higher level and penetrates many more aspects of your game. A few examples are:

• Estimate equity vs. weighted pre-flop ranges
• See how pre-flop ranges connect with different boards
• Calculate equity vs. post flop ranges
• Explore continuation bet hand ranges and fold equity
• Filter hands based on detailed board texture conditions

HM: What led to the partnership with Hold'em Manager.

Alex: Hold'em Manager is definitely the best poker analytics software on the market today . . . so it was a no-brainer to initially decide that Hold'em Manger was the database that I wanted to build these tools around.

I initially came up with the concept in early 2009 and spent several hundred hours working on it on my own. I launched an early version of my efforts on my own website Hold'em Manager came across it and approached me in October of last year about incorporating the basic functionality into the standard Hold'em Manager and Omaha Manager. At the same time, I told them about my ideas for the more advanced tools . . . they shared my excitement about the PRO version and we quickly formed a partnership where I develop the tools and they would promote it through their new HM APPS program.
